Atlanta Eco Painters was formed as the result
of a natural, learning process of it's founder Alison Merenda Betancourt.
Ali has always been an artist in one way or another.
She came to Atlanta to visit in 1998 and fell in love with the trees. In the year 2000, she moved to Atlanta to
start making art on walls.
Although Ali would much rather be painting on canvases all day long,
she figured
if she had to make a living in "the real world", she might as well have a paintbrush in her hand.
This has
served her well, because painting on walls are really just a huge canvas for expression.
Ali has always been a lover
of nature and the environment. Over the last couple of years, Ali found that more and more frequently, she would find herself
feeling completely sick after a long days work. She just couldn't stand the fumes and chemicals from all the materials
that she was using.
She thought, "There has got to be another way!"
She decided that it was either time
to clean up her environment, or get a new job.
That's when she started researching what other products were available.
Ali is very excited to be embarking on this new journey, of continuing to do her work, while using all the new non-toxic
and eco-friendly products that are now becoming more accessible in the marketplace.
